Users and roles
For administrators.
Users are the staff who sign in to Gambrel Book, and the sites they work at.
Roles

| User | Take and work orders, record payments, and manage customers. |
| Administrator | Everything a user can, plus the Admin pages (Catalog, Business, Sites, Users), voiding payments and reopening orders that are ready for pickup. |
A business always keeps at least one active administrator.
Inviting someone
- Select Invite user.
- Enter their first name, last name and email, and choose their role.
- Select Send invite. They get an email with a link to set their password (see Signing in).
If the email didn't arrive or the link expired, open the user and select Resend invite.
Changing a user
Open the user to:
- choose the Sites they work at;
- Change role;
- Send password reset, when they've forgotten their password. They get an email with a link to choose a new one, which works once and expires in one hour. You never see the link or their password. (Someone who hasn't set a password yet needs Resend invite instead.)
- Deactivate user, when they leave. They can't sign in, and their name stays on the orders and payments they handled. Restore user lets them sign in again.
When someone leaves
Deactivate them on the day they go. They're signed out on every device at once, and any invite or reset link they still have stops working. Gambrel Book can't change passwords outside it, so also change any shared passwords they knew, such as a shop computer's or your email's.
