Payments
Recording a payment
On the order page, select Record payment. Enter the amount and choose the method: Cash, Check, Card in store, Card online or Other. Add a note if you need one, such as a check number.
The deposit entered when the order is created is recorded as its first payment.
To give money back, select Record refund.
The customer gets an emailed receipt for each payment or refund, when you have their email. There's none for the deposit, which is on the order confirmation.
Voiding a payment
A payment entered by mistake can be voided by an administrator: select Void entry on the payment and give a reason. A voided payment stays in the list, crossed out.
Card fees
When a site charges a card fee (set on Sites), the payment form has a box, Add 3% card fee to card payments (with your site's rate). The fee is charged on top of the amount and doesn't count toward the balance. Uncheck the box to waive it. Customer documents show the total, with a note of what it comes to when paid by card.
Sales tax
Meat isn't taxed, so Gambrel Book charges no sales tax unless a site sets a tax rate on Sites.
