Catalog
For administrators.
The Catalog is everything you sell and the choices that go with it. Gambrel Book starts every business with a set of defaults, which you can change, hide or add to.
| List | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Species | The animals you take in, each with its Typical yield (see Yields and pounds). |
| Categories | Groups that sort products in the lists. |
| Services | Work on the whole animal, such as skinning or processing. |
| Products | What the customer takes home, such as steaks, ground or sausage, with a price and unit. |
| Options | Choices on a product, such as package size or thickness, with a price adjustment for each value. |
| Added meats | Meat added to a mix, such as pork fat or beef. |
| Mixes | A product's ratios of game to added meat, with one default. |
Changing a default
A default item has the menu Edit, Hide here or Show here, and Reset to default. Its chip says Default until you change it, then Changed.
- Edit changes its price, name and other settings for your business only. No other business sees the change.
- Hide here stops offering it. Show here offers it again.
- Reset to default undoes your changes.
Items you add yourself are edited the same way, and can be deleted.
Several sites
At a business with several sites, the top of the Catalog page says where your changes apply:
- with All sites as your working site, changes apply to every site;
- with one site as your working site, they apply to that site only, on top of the business's settings.
Switch site from the menu under your name (see Signing in).
What changes do to orders
- New orders and new lines use the catalog as it is now.
- Lines already on an order keep their prices. Changing a price, or a product's name, doesn't change the price of an order that already has it.
- Hiding an item stops it being added to orders, but orders that already use it keep it. It's shown as "(no longer offered)" there.
- Deleting your own item removes it from the catalog. Past orders keep it.
