What moves an order on its own

  • Entering every yield: when Save changes enters the last missing yielded weight on a Staged order, it moves to Processing.
  • Checking the last Ready box: each line has a Ready box that saves as soon as you check it. Checking the last one on a Processing order moves it to Complete, if it passes the check below.

Nothing moves an order to Ready for pickup on its own. Mark it ready when you're about to tell the customer.

The yield check

An order can only be marked Complete or Ready for pickup when every animal has a yielded weight, and its per-pound lines take all of that weight. If it doesn't pass, a message says what's missing, for example "Animal 1: Per-pound lines total 13.0 lb; the yield is 20.0 lb." See Yields and pounds.

Complete and Ready for pickup check off every line and lock the lines. Going back to Processing unlocks them.

Emails to the customer

Only two status changes email the customer, when you have their email:

  • Create order: the order confirmation.
  • Every move to Ready for pickup: the ready email, with the invoice when the order is already paid in full.
